Prof. Dr. Roeland J.G. De Moor DDS, PhD, MSc Paediatric Dentistry and Dental Traumatology, MSc Restorative Dentistry and Endodontology is Full-Professor in Restorative Dentistry, Endodontology and Dental Traumatology, head of the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Endodontology, former Dean of the Dental School, and currently director of the Dental Programme of the Ghent Dental School, Ghent University, Belgium.
He is programme director and responsible for the 3-year specialisation programme in Endodontics at the Ghent University, and responsible and founder of the Ghent Dental Laser Centre. He is an international lecturer in Laser Dentistry and Endodontology.
His research] is focused on (1) minimal invasive Restorative Dentistry and Endodontics with emphasis on the use of lasers in cavity preparation, root canal sterilisation & root canal wall modification in endodontics, (2) laser bleaching, (3) endodontic epidemiology, (4) analysis of parameters determining the quality of conventional and surgical endodontic treatment, (5) introduction of nanotechnology in dentistry. He is author and co-author of more than 100 peer-reviewed international and national publications (most of them on endodontic and laser subjects).
Prof. Dr. De Moor is a founding member and president of BAET (Belgian Association for Endodontology and Traumatology) & SOLA (Society of Oral Laser applications)-Benelux; founding member of the First World Congress of Microdentistry; country representative for BAET in ESE (European Society for Endodontology) and IFEA (International Federation of Endodontic Associations), and for SOLA-Benelux; vice-president of SOLA-international.
