Purpose

The objectives of the society is to initiate, support and coordinate  research and also to increase and spread knowledge in the use of lasers in dentistry and in oral/maxillofacial surgery, as well as to propagate relevant equipment and techniques throughout the world.
SOLA functions as hub of further exploitation of the International potential in science and innovation through close cooperation and communication with scientific associations, practitioners, public authorities and industry.

In response to this call it is our aim:

• to coordinate research and define uniform standards of laser application in the fields of general dentistry and oral / maxillofacial surgery.
• to integrate practitioners into this international network stimulating dialogue between scientists and clinicians.
• to offer objective information through organizing congresses, seminars, symposia and to provide practical guidance through an educational framework, clinical round-tables, hands-on- workshops etc.
• to establish an open dialogue with manufacturers giving pertinent feedback resulting from daily use in clinical settings thus enabling them develop lasers with respect to actual practical needs.
